303-3 (To be double checked)

département 3 (France et Haïti) ), le canton 4 (Suisse), est fondamentale; have no equivalent as well as districts 7 (Suisse), ont moins d’importance.

303-11 circle (To be double checked)

As an other example, the main administrative division in France are now the regions 2 which correspond to the province and the departements  3★ which correspond to the cantons 4★ in Switzerland where districts 7★ and circles 11★ are minor civil divisions. In the United States, parishes are equivalent to counties.
I tried to integrate the missing terms 3,4, 7 and 11 by using example in France and Switzerland. The note concerning the United States has been moved in the main text. --Nicolas Brouard 15:44, 2 August 2013 (CEST)

  • in the USA, counties are the unit above townships and cities but below states. Inserted in main text. --Stan BECKER 18:25, 29 September 2014 (CEST)

In Canada, for example the main administrative divisions, by increasing order of size, are the township 8, the county 9 and the province 10. As another example, the main administrative division in France are now the regions 2 which correspond to the province and the departements  3★ which correspond to the cantons 4★ in Switzerland where districts 7★ and circles 11★ are minor civil divisions. In the United States, parishes are equivalent to counties which are the unit above townships and cities but below states.

  • 1. Villages, boroughs and cities are other names sometimes given to the smaller administrative units. Municipality is a general descriptive term for minor civil division. . This complete section 303 has to be double checked --Nicolas Brouard (talk) 17:01, 28 December 2017 (CET)

307-6 Metropolitan regions (Double checked)

Las aglomeraciones multicomunales que tienen como centro la capital del país se denominan áreas metropolitanas 6 o regiones metropolitanas 6.--Nicolas Brouard 13:45, 30 December 2009 (UTC)
Far from the Spanish definition but corresponds to the Eurostat definition of "Metro region". Change made in the French edition too. --Nicolas Brouard 15:14, 2 August 2013 (CEST)
Metropolitan regions 6★ may refer to agglomerations which include the commuter belt.
Has commuter been defined? --Stan BECKER 18:29, 29 September 2014 (CEST)
No, commuter hasn't been defined and it should not be defined here from what I understand. Double checked --Nicolas Brouard (talk) 17:08, 28 December 2017 (CET)
